Today, Ural State University of Economics began accepting documents from applicants. In the 2025-2026 academic year, USUE plans to enroll over 6 thousand first-year students at all levels of education.

The Admissions Committee started its work in the lobby of the first floor of the USUE main building. The work was launched by the acting USUE rector, vice-rector for academic affairs, teaching methods and quality of training, Dmitry Karkh, and the secretary of the Admissions Committee, director of the USUE Institute of Strategic Planning and Financial Analysis, Maxim Maramygin. They officially cut the red ribbon, launching the 58th enrollment campaign in the university's history.

“We really hope that the high bar we have set - namely, to recruit several thousand applicants who will later join the ranks of our independent, confident and smart students - will definitely be passed. We will succeed! Welcome, an applicant-2025!” Dmitry Karkh said.

The acceptance of documents began at 10:00. Those wishing to enter Ural State University of Economics came to the university even before the Committee began its work. One of the first to submit documents for admission was Alexander Abramov, who works for a large road enterprise in the Sverdlovsk region. He is entering the bachelor’s degree program in the area of Human Resources Management for intra-extramural mode of study.

“I have a secondary vocational education and was trained as a metallurgical technician. However, I work in the field of HR. To continue my career, I need a higher education. USUE is one of the oldest universities in our city and it is quite famous. Many of my colleagues had graduated from it. I can say that they helped me with the choice of university. I want to wish myself patience, because I think studying and combining study with work is quite difficult, but I hope I can cope with it!” Alexander says.

This year, USUE offers 74 areas of study: 34 for the bachelor’s degree, 2 for the specialist’s degree, 24 for the master’s degree, and 7 areas for both the postgraduate and College programs.

The state funds over 400 places in different programs at all educational levels, including College. This year, USUE received more state-funded places for some areas and specialties: for example, in 2024, there were 10 state-funded places for Biotechnologies and this year—they are 30.

There are several ways to submit documents for admission: to bring them to the university in person, send data through the Portal of Government Services, or send documents by Russian Post.

“The peculiarity of this enrollment campaign is that, first, it began simultaneously at all universities of the country, and second, if a university has not postponed the start of the academic year, orders on enrollment to all forms of study in bachelor’s, master’s and postgraduate programs must be published no later than August 31. Our students will begin studying on September 1 and we have not postponed the deadlines. The first orders on enrollment will be published on August 2-3, they will concern applicants without entrance examinations, who are enrolled within a special, separate quota or a quota of targeted admission,” Irina Martyanova, head of the USUE Office for Admission and Pre-University Training, said.

About 40 students work for the Admissions Committee together with the university teachers and staff. Throughout the summer, while the campaign is ongoing, they will help applicants fill out documents and answer questions. Besides, USUE has a call center where you can call and ask all your questions on enrollment. The Admissions Committee will accept documents from Monday to Saturday. More information about the terms and rules of admission, the number of places and much more can be found in the section “Application and Admission” at the USUE website.
