Friendship only gets stronger
During his visit to Kyrgyzstan, USUE Rector Yakov Silin met with the heads of higher educational institutions of the Republic.
Meetings were held with the rector of Osh Technological University Zhanbolot Tursunbaev and the rector of Osh State University Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov, during which the heads of universities discussed further prospects for mutual cooperation.
One of the most important educational practices that USUE implements in the Eurasian space is parallel learning programs. Today such a program operates, for example, with the Tashkent State Economic University from neighboring Uzbekistan. In the future, similar agreements may be concluded with Kyrgyz universities.
Also during the meetings, issues were raised about the development of academic mobility of teachers and students of the two countries and participation in the XIV Eurasian Economic Youth Forum, which will be held in the spring of 2024. This year, Osh State University became one of the national platforms of the XIII EEFM and attracted about two hundred students from local universities to the forum. Next year their participation promises to be even larger.
OshTU was founded in 1963. Today, about 10 thousand students study at the university.
Osh State University, founded in 1939, is one of the largest and oldest universities in Kyrgyzstan, with 28 thousand students studying there.
