Economic theory and practice under new conditions

The X European-Asian Symposium on Economic Theory - EASET-2022 - was recently held at the Institute of Economics of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Yekaterinburg). USUE professors took part in it, along with Russian and foreign scientists and experts.

 The symposium brought together over 450 scientists from Russia, Japan, Italy, Brazil, Australia, China, USA, Slovakia, Papua New Guinea, Greece, Jordan, and Côte d’Ivoire. Ural State University of Economics was represented by Dr. Svetlana Pyankova. professor at the USUE Department of Regional and Municipal Economics and Management, and Prof. Irina Tkachenko, head of the USUE Department of Economic Theory and Corporate Governance.

The two-day program included 12 events in a combined face-to-face and online format: a plenary session, roundtables and scientific sessions on hot issues in the development of economic theory.
The major theme of the symposium is "The viability of economic theories: testing by order and chaos."

The most lively discussions flared up around the matters of reviewing modern economic journals, cases of interaction between economic entities under the current conditions, actual transformations of human capital, education in economics, as well as the accumulation of entropy in socio ‐ economic systems and the facets of interaction between economic theory and practice within a period of uncertainty.
