Economic dictation written by a record number of Ural residents
October 11, the All-Russian economic dictation took place in the country. In the Sverdlovsk region, 5,200 people took part in the action. This was an absolute record for all six years of its holding.
Ural State University of Economics has been the central platform for the action in the Ural region for six years. Thanks to the efforts of USUE staff, a record number of participants were attracted to the action this year. These are students, teachers, university staff, as well as all those for whom it is important to maintain and develop their economic literacy.
A novelty of this year was the participation in the dictation of many schoolchildren. 975 high school students of 9-11 grades from 22 educational institutions in Yekaterinburg, Pervouralsk, Verkhnyaya Pyshma, and Polevskoy answered the test questions. These schools take part in the network program of continuous education, which is implemented by USUE in Yekaterinburg and the cities of the region. Participants of another educational program - “Entrepreneurial Classes”, future businessmen, wrote the dictation together with members of the Sverdlovsk Regional Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, being connected to existing market participants via video link. The program was organized on the initiative and jointly with Andrey Goncharov, a Presidium member of the Sverdlovsk regional Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
All in all, in the Sverdlovsk region, 975 schoolchildren and 4231 students, experts, teachers, representatives of business, authorities and local self-government took part in the All-Russian Economic Dictation. Through the joint efforts of our university, its staff and teachers, the Ural branch of the VEO of Russia, interested business executives, an unprecedented result has been achieved and the geography of the dictation has been expanded. However, perhaps, the major effect of the event is the involvement of young people in the future development of our country, whom the future of our region and all of Russia depends on.
