It was wow!
The official opening of the Eurasian Session of Senior High School Students (ESS) took place at the USUE House of Culture to the joyful exclamations and burst of applause of over 300 participants: the present ninth session numbers 22 detachments.
Today, at the roll call, the guys appeared as actual teams. In the morning, they came up with funny and positive names for the detachments - from “Ogres” and “Mafia” to “Cultural Society” and “Empire”, decorated plates with their detachments numbers, and put on bright T-shirts with the USUE ESS logo.
USUE rector Yakov Silin greeted the schoolers: “We and your teachers tried to prepare a program that would be interesting and useful for you. You have completed the academic year and are immersed in the atmosphere of one of the best economic universities in Russia with outstanding faculty members, first-class facilities and reserves, which you may decide to enter in the future. Good luck and hopefully see you as our students!”
The head of the USUE Office for Admissions and Pre-University Training, Irina Martyanova, also welcomed the children and said that ESS-2022 involved high school students from all districts of Yekaterinburg.
“I hope together we will have a lively time at Ural State University of Economics. We will attend all events and master classes. I wish you good luck!” Irina Martyanova said.
Camp counselors prepared a theatrical performance, which helped to cover the theme of the Eurasian Session of Senior High School Students–2022 - “Events Horizon”. The main idea of the scene played out is that everyone should always look for one’s own niche in life. The most important thing is to take the first step, despite fears and doubts. And the USUE ESS is such a step on the way to choosing one’s future. Having made that first step in the past as participants of the same session, many of the youth counselors now are USUE students.
The performance of the counselors was complemented by interactive action: high school students shared warm words with each other, overcoming embarrassment, so that later they could wholeheartedly dance to popular with youth and ageless rock hits performed by the Chickaos musical group (USUE).
