Rector's annual report

USUE held an extended meeting of the Academic Council. Before the start of the new academic year, USUE Rector Yakov Silin sums up the work of the 2023-2024 academic year and sets the team tasks for the upcoming one.

Professor Yakov Silin draws the attention of the university staff to the message of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin dated February 29, 2024, on the launch of new national projects "Family", "Youth of Russia", "Personnel", "Long and Active Life" and "Data Economy". He noted that the university pays special attention to personnel and improving the quality of training specialists:

"The task of our university is not only to integrate into the implementation of the tasks set by the head of state, but also to create a flexible environment that combines the interests of the state and each student. I draw attention to the detailed development of curricula and the topics of final qualifying works. If the state sets goals, then they should also be reflected in our activities."

As the rector noted, last academic year the university did a lot of work to build relationships with government and commercial organizations. Every year the number of strategic partners of the university increases. Last academic year several cooperation agreements were signed, including agreements with the Ural Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Tashkent State University of Economics.

The head of the university also summed up the interim results of the admissions campaign. As of December 2023, there were almost 16.5 thousand students at USUE - 4% more than in 2022. In 2024, the acceptance of documents for some forms of study is still ongoing, but at the moment about two thousand people have already been enrolled in full-time education at USUE.

The summing up of the results also includes awarding the best teachers of the university. In the nomination "Professor of the Year", the best was the head of the department of regional, municipal economy and management of USUE Ivan Antipin. "Associate Professor of the Year" was named associate professor of the department of creative management and humanities of USUE Dmitry Stozhko. In the nomination "Mentor of the Year" was won by the deputy director for academic work of the college of USUE Larisa Cheganova. Senior lecturer of the department of economic theory and applied sociology of USUE Lyudmila Chesnokova was named "Teacher of the Year". In addition, the Certificate of Honor and the badge of the Governor of the Sverdlovsk region for many years of fruitful work, high professionalism and great contribution to the training of highly qualified specialists in the Sverdlovsk region were awarded to the director of the publishing house of USUE Alena Grebenshchikova, senior lecturer of the department of foreign languages ​​of USUE Marina Zonova. A letter of thanks from the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region was presented to the head of the research laboratory of scientometric analysis and bibliolandscape studies Viktor Blaginin.

  

  

In the new academic year, the university will also have new goals. Particular attention will be paid to the strategic project "Eurasian Synergy", which is aimed at promoting the achievement of national development goals of Russia. This project is designed to increase the integration potential of scientific and educational initiatives at the university and support the achievement of national development goals of our country.
