Financial control, the role of the Bank of Russia and the development of audit

October 5, the All-Russian scientific and practical conference «Development of Audit, Accounting, State Financial Control and Supervision in the Russian Federation» was held at Ural State University of Economics. Experts from Moscow, Tyumen, Chelyabinsk, Nizhnevartovsk, Rostov-on-Don, and Yekaterinburg discussed reforming of Russian audit, combating money laundering, and the role of professional community in developing of federal accounting standards.

Welcoming remarks were made by the director for interaction with government bodies, member of the Board, founder of the self-regulatory Association of Accountants and Auditors «Sodruzhestvo» Vladimir Chaia and the chair of the USUE Department of Accounting and Audit Nadezhda Necheukhina.

A member of the Board and Vice-President of «Sodruzhestvo» Galina Rybenko told the participants about the role of the Bank of Russia in audit reforming and proposed to discuss the bill offered by the Bank of Russia.

The conference participants and experts raised issues of external quality control of audit organizations, application of international audit standards, and the HQC certification of an audit organization. In addition, experts focused on combating money laundering and financing of terrorism and outlined the role of the audit in matters related to prevention of laundering of illegally obtained proceeds.
