We need to have horizons to expand them

A video conference was held at USUE with the Russian House in Sri Lanka. They discussed the development of cooperation, which was launched by the Eurasian Economic Youth Forum in 2022. Students from Sri Lankan universities joined the online meeting.

“We have already established contacts with three Sri Lankan universities and signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine. We have a wealth of experience in international interaction: over two and a half thousand international students study at the Preparatory Faculty, bachelor’s, master’s and postgraduate courses at USUE, including 18 Sri Lanka nationals.

We are ready to expand cooperation and are sure that it will be interesting: our university is the only specialized economic university in the Urals, and this is a large industrial region, and we are tightly woven into its life and make a significant contribution to the development of its business and economy,” Yakov Silin emphasized.

The participants of the online meeting - Director of the Russian House in Sri Lanka and 1st Secretary of the Russian Embassy in Sri Lanka, Maria Popova, chief financier of the Russian House in Colombo, Alexandra Shalaginova, coordinator of youth and educational programs of the Russian House in Colombo, Venurika Jayasinghe, and 30 students from educational institutions in Sri Lanka - confirmed the interest in cooperation with USUE.

It was difficult to learn Russian, but it was very interesting, and they helped me with everything. Besides studying, I play sports, in particular karate, and enjoy attending student events.”
