Today, on the Day of the People’s Republic of China, a meeting with the heads of Chinese schools took place at USUE. They discussed the prospects for cooperation and opening a Russian Language Center in China.

The event participants were the USUE Vice-Rector for Social Work and Youth Policy, Roman Krasnov, representatives of over ten educational institutions in China and Chinese students of the USUE Preparatory Faculty.
“USUE has been cooperating with universities in China for about 10 years. During this time, we have accumulated significant experience of joint work. We cooperate with 16 Chinese universities. Within this cooperation, various projects are being implemented, for example, double-degree programs, student and teacher exchanges, and teaching the Russian language. We are open to new ideas and proposals and are ready for further cooperation, considering the interests of both parties,” Roman Krasnov, USUE Vice-Rector for Social Work and Youth Policy, opened the event.

The main topic of the meeting was the discussion of cooperation in education, as well as the opening of a Russian Language Center at educational institutions in China. The foreign delegation noted the growing interest of young people in learning the Russian language.

“We have established friendly relations between our countries. Today, many people in China know about Russia, and our youth are interested in receiving education at Russian universities, as well as learning the Russian language. This is especially noticeable in the northern part of our country. Our goal is to scale up the spreading of the Russian language to the southern regions of China,” the head of the International Department of the Banma Academy, Zhao Xianming, emphasized.

USUE representatives told the guests about the university, its educational programs, and opportunities for foreign students in Russia. As of today, about 100 students from China are mastering bachelor’s and master’s programs at Ural State University of Economics. Every year, hundreds of students enter the USUE Preparatory Faculty to study the Russian language.

USUE is developing cooperation with foreign educational institutions. As part of this cooperation, Russian Language Centers are being established. One of these centers is already operating in Egypt. Another Center was opened at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura in Sri Lanka this September.
