2nd international scientific and practical conference Ural – 21st Century: Region of Innovative Development
Today, Ural State University of Economics hosts the last scientific and practical conference timed to the 50th anniversary of the University "Ural – 21st Century: Region of Innovative Development".
The plenary session was attended by the USUE Rector Yakov Silin, Vice-President, Director of the Free Economic Society of Russia Margarita Ratnikova, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Adviser of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Economics, Professor Valery Chichkanov, General Director of the Ural optical and mechanical plant Anatoly Sludny, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, chairman of the Joint scientific Council of the Ural branch of RAS in Economic Sciences, chair of the USUE Department of Political Economy, Ph.D., D.Sc., Professor Yevgeny Popov.
USUE Rector Yakov Silin addressed all those present with a welcoming speech, " today I am glad to welcome all at a very important scientific and practical conference, which completes a series of scientific events dedicated to the anniversary of our University. Another important and significant event for the University, for economic science in the Urals, and business will take place today: the foundation of the Ural regional branch of the Free Economic Society of Russia. It has a huge history, including its work here in the Sverdlovsk region. Today the society is rising to a new level and the Free Economic Society of Russia is working hard to expand the activities, improving the quality of work and level of economic education of people. Getting to another qualitative level of work, regional branches are being established. We would be glad to see today the delegates at the constituent conference."
Today, a number of sections will be held, where experts from economic and financial spheres will deliver reports. Among the issues for discussion there are the consideration of energy efficiency, research and development of economy, study of economic relations, import substitution, digitization of economy, training of qualified personnel, introduction of high-end technologies, innovations of monetary sphere, tax policy, development of consumer market, implementation of budgets, and others.
In addition to the work of the sections, the conference will host "Postgraduate Readings - 2017", where young scientists will present their reports. Among the participants of the Readings, there is a doctoral student from Ruhr University (Bochum, Germany) Lisa Grandjean.
