IT in teaching foreign languages

March 15, the USUE Department of Foreign Languages, took part in the international scientific and practical conference in foreign languages ??“Challenging Issues of Professional Sphere in Modern World”, organized by Ural State Pedagogical University.

A senior lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages Natalia Georgievna Sosnina presented the report "IT in Teaching Foreign Languages. She shared her experience of using a program of short stories creation in students’ project activity. This program is implemented with Ren'Py, a special engine designed to create visual novels. Using Screen Language, it is possible to create a visual interface from a limited set of widgets and customize its functionality. It is also possible to use the "pure" Python language to create more professional and harmonious software products.

In the process of studying a foreign language, students under the guidance of Natalia Sosnina create applications in English that can be used by a wide audience. An example of such an application is the work of a second-year student Anastasia Pozdeyeva “Zabivaka Kicks the Ball”.  This project was awarded a first place diploma at the international contest of research works in 2017.
