From Sri Lanka to the Urals

USUE Vice-Rector for Social Work and Youth Policy, Roman Krasnov, during a working visit to Sri Lanka, met with the Vice Chancellor of the Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine, Mr. Ranjana W. Senevirante.

This April, as part of the XIII Eurasian Economic Youth Forum, Professor Ranjana Senevirante and USUE Rector Yakov Silin signed a memorandum of cooperation between the two universities. The new meeting should consolidate the agreements reached, so that students from Sri Lanka can come to USUE on exchange programs already in the coming academic year.

“We are interested in expanding cooperation and academic exchange between our universities,” Roman Krasnov explained. “Gampaha Wickramarachchi University expressed its desire to send its teachers for advanced training to us, at USUE, in September. Then we will prepare a roadmap for the student exchange.”

About twenty students from Sri Lanka studied at USUE last academic year. Distance technologies and academic exchange programs will help increase the number of students. Janitha Liyanage, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sri Lanka to Russia, is an active supporter of the development of communication between the universities of the two states. She visited USUE twice, during the XII and XIII EEYF, met with officials, representatives of business community and public organizations of the Urals, as well as with compatriot students.
