A press conference entitled “State Support for Talent: New Scholarship Program from the Russian Ministry of Education and Science for Ural Students” was held at the TASS press center in Yekaterinburg. Yakov Silin, Rector of Ural State University of Economics, took part in the event.

The conference brought together representatives of higher education institutions and government agencies operating in the region. During the meeting, its participants—Anton Khandzhyan, deputy head of the scholarship program at the Russian Ministry of Education and Science; Yakov Silin, Rector of Ural State University of Economics; and the heads of Yugra State University, Yekaterinburg State Theatre Institute, and the Ural State University of Architecture and Arts—discussed key aspects of the innovations and measures of support for talented young people.

Yakov Silin emphasized the importance of developing and motivating highly qualified specialists: “Higher education institutions are the breeding ground for future professionals. Our goal is to prepare students to the highest standards and provide them with every opportunity to realize their potential with future employers. Today, USUE has 26 students who have received scholarships from the Governor of the Sverdlovsk region, and we also regularly apply for scholarships from the President and the Government of the Russian Federation. We are confident that these measures stimulate the development of talented young people and contribute to raising the level of specialist training.”
During the event, they also discussed prospects for expanding opportunities for students in the region and supporting their achievements at the federal level.
