The opening ceremony of the Eurasian Camp Session for High-School Students was held at Ural State University of Economics. This is the 14th year the university has implemented a career-guidance project for schoolchildren. This year, its participants are 276 students in 8-11 grades from Yekaterinburg schools.

Acting rector of the University, Roman Krasnov, greeted the participants from the stage of the USUE House of Culture:
"The best schools and students of Yekaterinburg have gathered here today. We've been looking forward to meeting you. Thank you for choosing our university. I hope that USUE will become your alma mater and that you'll love it as much as I do. Our priority is to create a good and engaging environment for your development. The university has many options beyond classes. You can join student associations, sports clubs, and creative groups to showcase your talents. We hope to see you again in the future as students of our College, undergraduate, and graduate programs. The best choice is to finish your postgraduate or doctoral studies with us. Maybe the future rector of Ural State University of Economics is here today. Good luck to all!"

Tatyana Titova, Commissioner for Children’s Rights in the Sverdlovsk region, also welcomed high-school students:
“It’s great to see you here in the first month of summer at the Eurasian Camp for High-School Students. You’re here to build your skills and knowledge. Everyone has talent. I hope you make the most of this session. You’ll find 38 departments filled with experts ready to assist you. Discover new opportunities and interests at USUE, where you can achieve your goals. The Session program from the USUE Admissions and Pre-University Training Department gives students a special chance to develop leadership skills. They can also gain important skills for university and explore their future career options.

“Dear students, my congratulations on the end of the school year! Thanks to the Yekaterinburg Department of Education and our city’s district education departments, we’re here today at Ural State University of Economics. I wish you a fun and energetic summer break to get new energy for the next academic year. And for those students who will be taking exams next year, I wish to arm themselves with patience and fortitude to achieve a perfect score at the Basic State Exam and the Unified State Exam. Good luck!” said Irina Martyanova, who leads the USUE Admissions and Pre-University Training Department.

The event featured creative performances by university students. They sang popular songs, danced, and showed off their video-making skills.
Over the next three weeks, high school students will enjoy practical workshops in all areas of their training. The activities will include themed games, lab experiments, and development of their own concepts. We will focus on meetings with university faculty and invited experts. This includes people from marketing, the restaurant business, management, and the event industry. Thirty-four USUE student counselors will act as mentors and friends for the camp participants. They will stay with the teenagers all the time.
