Leya Garifullina is in the 7th round of the chess superfinal!

As a result of a tense struggle, a USUE student reached the 7th round of the superfinal of the 71st Russian Women's Chess Championship, which takes place in Ufa from 8 to 21 October. Leya Garifullina got a tie with Olga Girya, and that allowed her to continue her participation in the competition.

Not so long ago, Leya Garifullina took part in the online chess Olympiad as a member of the Russian team. It was the USUE student who made a decisive contribution to the victory: she beat her American opponent, Thalia Cervantes, and provided our team with gold medals.

Leya Garifullina is a student at the USUE College. She has been playing chess since the age of 6 and has many awards: she is the world blitz champion among girls under 14 years old, the world champion - 2019 in the category up to 16 years old, and the bronze medalist of the higher league of the Russian championship. This July, Leya became one of the 32 best chess players in the world.
