Young people's skills
The traditional regional competitions for the USUE Rector's Cup in sambo among boys 14-16 years old were held at the sports complex of the Ural State Economic University. The objectives of the tournament are to attract young people to a healthy lifestyle, popularize sambo and improve the sportsmanship of participants.
This year, 98 schoolchildren from Yekaterinburg, Verkhnyaya Pyshma, Severouralsk, Kamyshlov and the town took part in the USUE Rector's Cup. Verkhneye Dubrovo. Young men competed for awards in nine weight categories. USUE Rector Yakov Silin attended the competition. The tournament was organized by the Sambo Federation of the Sverdlovsk Region.
“Every year there are more and more participants in sambo competitions. The boys performed well at the competition. The USUE Rector's Sambo Cup was held at a high organizational level, and, most importantly, without injuries,” noted the USSR Master of Sports in Sambo, judge of the All-Russian category Azat Dautov, following the results of the competition.
The winners of the competition in the 46-88+ kg weight categories were:
46 kg – student of sports school No. 16 in Yekaterinburg Vladislav Nikitin (coach Dmitry Maksakov);
49 kg – student of sports school No. 16 in Yekaterinburg Makar Obukhov (coach Dmitry Maksakov);
53 kg – student of sports school No. 8 “Lokomotiv” in Yekaterinburg Vyacheslav Atkin (coach Valery Pyshmintsev);
58 kg – student of the Kamyshlov sports school Abdullo Safarov (coach Safarov);
64 kg – student of the Kamyshlov sports school Muhammad Odinaev (coach Ilya Nikulin);
71 kg – student of the Olympic reserve sports school for sambo and judo in Yekaterinburg Egor Artemyev (coaches Ismail Bagirov and Eldar Artikov);
79 kg – student of the Cadet Boarding School of the Yekaterinburg Cadet Corps Semyon Bezumov (coach Alexander Zanochkin);
88 kg – student of the Victoria sports school in Yekaterinburg Akobir Vasidov (coaches Aidos Yusupov, Roman Rybin);
88+ kg – student of sports school No. 16 in Yekaterinburg Stepan Titov (coach Dmitry Maksakov).
The USUE Rector's Sambo Cup has been held for the seventh time. Participation in the competition brings sambo wrestlers closer to being awarded a higher sports category. To receive the next rank, an athlete must win a certain number of times in various competitions during the year.
