Development of international cooperation: USUE Council of Young Scientists in China

From June 14 to June 17, 2017, the youth exchange of entrepreneurs of China and Russia took place in Harbin (China) in the framework of the fourth Russian-Chinese EXPO. The organizers of the event were the Youth Union of China, the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, the Russian Union of Youth, the Komsomol Committee in Heilongjiang province, the International Youth Exchange Center of China, and others.

The youth exchange of entrepreneurs of China and Russia appeared to be a platform for roundtables, meetings on cooperation between Russian-Chinese small and medium-sized businesses, and presentations of joint youth programs. During the event, Oksana Akhmetzyanova, coordinator of international activities of the Sverdlovsk regional branch of the Russian Union of Young Scientists, which operates at USUE, held a presentation of the International contest of projects of students, postgraduates, and young scientists in the field of urban development and improvement of the urban environment and quality of people’s life.

The organizers of the contest are the Administration of Yekaterinburg, the Sverdlovsk Regional Branch of the Public Organization "Russian Union of Young Scientists", and Ural State University of Economics.
Young scientists, emergent entrepreneurs, and students were interested in participation, especially those from China. The contest is aimed at the formation and development of analytical, managerial and research competencies of participants in the field of strategic planning for urban development. The subject of the contest is important for countries and cities of any scale.

Since the presentation of the contest, a considerable number of questions have been received from potential foreign participants. Its Regulation is publically available in Russian and English. At this stage, the coordinators of the contest are working to attract foreign representatives of Chinese universities and to organize this event jointly with the Komsomol Committee of Heilongjiang province, the Youth Federation of Heilongjiang province, and Chinese youth centers.
