Yakov Silin, acting rector of Ural State University of Economics (USUE), is currently on a working visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan. The key event of the visit is his participation in the 5th International Forum "Global and National Economic Trends: ‘Uzbekistan – 2030’ Strategy." The forum is hosted by Tashkent State University of Economics (TSUE) and is dedicated to the university's 95th anniversary.

As an honored guest, Yakov Silin took part in the grand opening ceremony of the international forum and its plenary session. In his speech, he noted that USUE had been actively participating for several years in this large-scale event, which unites education and science while defining the paths of development and implementation for the "Uzbekistan – 2030" Strategy. "The Presidents of Russia and Uzbekistan set the main strategic directions, and we, the higher education institutions, bring them to life in the interests of our countries, joining forces to make them stronger," he emphasized.

In his speech, the acting rector of USUE also highlighted the long-standing cooperation between the universities and congratulated Tashkent State University of Economics: "It is a great honor and pride to say that for 10 years now, USUE and Tashkent State University of Economics have been implementing a major joint dual-degree program. This is not just a plan on paper, but a real success: today, 2,000 students are enrolled in this program, and we have already graduated five cohorts of bachelor’s and two cohorts of master’s students. All of this is made possible thanks to the strong partnership and open dialogue established between our universities. We are proud of this decade-long cooperation and are confident that it will continue to enhance the quality of education and strengthen the economic potential of both countries. I sincerely congratulate our colleagues on their anniversary! There is much more ahead, and may it all be prosperous!"

As part of the forum, Yakov Silin will also participate in business program events, an expanded meeting of the rectorate and the community of TSUE Honorary Professors titled "Development of Academic Exchange and Joint Educational Programs of Russia and Uzbekistan: Contribution to the 'Uzbekistan-2030' Strategy," as well as in the official award ceremony for the forum's competition winners.

The international forum serves as an effective communication platform for exchanging scientific ideas and best practices between international and national experts. The event brings together renowned economists, globally recognized experts, and leading scientists from Russia, Uzbekistan, Great Britain, the USA, Italy, Poland, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Republic of Korea, India, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and other nations. The program features research-to-practice conferences, and thematic exhibitions. To unleash the scientific and creative potential of young people, the forum will also host an international youth festival, contests of startup ideas and scientific article competitions as well as Olympiads for students and young researchers.

The USUE delegation also includes Dmitry Karkh, vice-rector for academic affairs, teaching methods and quality of training at USUE, and Ekaterina Yalunina, director of the Institute of Continuous and Distance Education. They will serve as speakers at the conference "Modern Trends in Sustainable Development of the National Economy." Dmitry Karkh’s presentation will focus on "Smart Logistics and Supply Chain Sustainability as Factors of Sustainable Business Development," while Ekaterina Yalunina will discuss "Innovative Enterprise Management Models and Increasing Their Competitiveness in the Context of Digital Economic Transformation."

Besides, as part of the International Festival "Global Development and the Intellectual Generation," USUE experts will conduct masterclasses for master's students. It is worth noting that these specialized sessions are organized by the Faculty of the Joint Educational Program of TSUE and USUE.
