Roman Krasnov, Vice-Rector for Social Work and Youth Policy at USUE, was awarded the title of Honorary Professor at Sri Jayawardenepura University. The award ceremony was held in the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.

He was highly appreciated for his significant contribution to the development of international cooperation in the field of education, active social activities, as well as for his personal efforts to strengthen peace and friendship between peoples. This event was a vivid confirmation of the high level of trust and mutual respect between the universities of the two countries.

The official decision on awarding the title was announced in April this year in Yekaterinburg as part of the XVI Eurasian Economics Youth Forum. As a sign of mutual respect, at the same time, the rector of Sri Jayawardenepura University, Heenkenda Mudiyanselaga Shiranta Chamida Bandara, was awarded the title of "Honorary Professor of USUE".

This event highlights the strategic importance of strengthening partnership ties between Russia and Sri Lanka. A good example of fruitful cooperation is the successful work of the USUE Russian Language Center at the University of Sri Jayawardenepura, which has already received several dozen students.
