International dialogue
Acting rector Yakov Silin and acting head of the Consulate General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Yekaterinburg Shohrat Rustam oglu Mustafayev held a working meeting at Ural State University of Economics. The parties discussed the results of their joint work and prospects for further cooperation in education and research.
“Our university, which trains students from 69 countries, is committed to the ongoing development of international cooperation. I am pleased that students from Azerbaijan are also receiving education within the walls of our university. For many years, we have enjoyed a warm partnership with Azerbaijan State University of Economics, whose students and young scientists actively participate in research competitions and consistently rank among the laureates and winners,” Yakov Silin noted.
Ural State University of Economics and Azerbaijan State University of Economics share a long history of successful and fruitful collaboration. Under a cooperation agreement signed between the universities in 2022, the two institutions implement joint educational and scientific programs, conduct research, participate in international projects, congresses, symposiums, and conferences, and exchange academic and scientific literature. Today, at USUE, students from Azerbaijan pursue undergraduate and professional development programs.
Yakov Silin thanked Shohrat Rustam oglu Mustafayev for his active participation and comprehensive support of the Eurasian Economic Youth Forum (EEYF). The delegation of the Republic of Azerbaijan traditionally takes part in EEYF events, supporting the development of academic and cultural exchange between the countries. Leading state university of Azerbaijan, specializing in training specialists in economics, business, and management, regularly co-organizes the forum, holding joint research competitions for students and young scientists.
Summing up the meeting, USUE acting rector Yakov Silin emphasized ongoing dialogue, established both between universities and at the level of the two countries, paves the way for new large-scale projects and enables joint efforts to address pressing issues in education, research, and economics.
