Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Russian Federation Rahman Mustafayev visited Ural State University of Economics as part of his first working visit to the Sverdlovsk region. Together with the USUE rector Yakov Silin, they discussed the prospects and opportunities for further cooperation in education and research.
The meeting was also attended by a delegation from Azerbaijan consisting of the Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Russian Federation Togrul Sadygov , acting head of the Consulate General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Yekaterinburg Shohrat Mustafayev and the General Director of oil company Rufat Makhmud. The university was represented by USUE Кector Yakov Silin and USUE Vice-Rector for Social Work and Youth Policy Roman Krasnov .
Welcoming the guests from Azerbaijan, Yakov Silin expressed hope for fruitful cooperation: "Our region is very promising with the largest number of universities. There is a lot that is underestimated here. We have the most powerful industrial potential in Russia. Our university actively interacts and cooperates with many foreign countries, including universities in Azerbaijan. I hope that in the future we will have serious and significant joint projects."
The foreign delegation got acquainted with USUE scientific journals, which occupy leading positions in the national rankings, as well as with one of the most important events of the university - the Eurasian Economic Youth Forum. The USUE rector invited the diplomat to take part in the XV EEYF. Rakhman Mustafayev accepted the invitation, emphasizing that, despite the difficult political situation in the world, Azerbaijan was a reliable partner of Russia.
The diplomat showed interest in the industrial and educational potential of the Sverdlovsk region, as well as in students from Azerbaijan studying in the region, noting that USUE has the largest number of them compared to other universities.
"We are positively focused on your region. And this concerns various areas, including education, science and economics. As an ambassador, I will be happy to support any of your initiatives aimed at interaction with Azerbaijani universities and organizations. Both parties will benefit from this since any progress, be it a contract or a project, will be mutually beneficial," the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Russian Federation summarized.
