Let’s start training with accommodation!
The university dormitories underwent a large-scale planned preparation for occupancy, during which the conditions for students’ comfortable living were updated.
It is worth mentioning that 2 buildings, designed for 1160 seats, are at Umeltsev street,13A and 13B, and yet another dormitory, which is at Shchorsa Street 36, can accommodate 410 nonresident students.
According to USUE Vice-Rector for Management of Property, Vladimir Kuligin, by August 15, all dormitories will be fully ready to move in.
Our correspondent, together with the director of the USUE department for property complex development, Sergei Saranchuk, checked the readiness of the dormitories for students to move in.
“Every year, before the ‘launch’ of dormitories, we check all plumbing equipment, carry out repairs, and purchase new textile products and furniture. Our service is doing everything to make students feel comfortable in our dormitories,” Sergei Saranchuk commented on the condition of the buildings.
Preparing the dormitories, a lot of work was done to replace engineering networks and the heating system. Bright LED lamps changed the old lamps in all buildings, so that students could live comfortably.
We have inspected the dormitories for safety and security measures. We checked how the pass entry system of turnstiles and surveillance cameras operate.
Besides, in all the buildings in the students’ kitchens, tables were updated, replacing obsolete wooden tables with metal ones made of food grade stainless steel for the convenience of cooking.
A flat-screen TV and floor chess were installed in the dormitory at Umeltsev Street, 13B, to hold events and organize leisure activities for students.
They renovated a sports court in the dormitory's courtyard and prepared gyms for students could regularly visit them.
Updated externally and internally, the dormitories with comfortable living conditions are again waiting for their guests - students and new visitors!
