AWARDING WORLD CHESS CHAMPION HELD AT USUE 

Merit of the Sverdlovsk region Governor to Leya Garifullina, a multiple world chess champion among girls under 16 years old, and awarding her the title of chess Master of Sports of Russia.

The meeting at Ural State University of Economics was attended by prominent persons of the city and representatives of the region's chess elite. The main goal of the event was the presentation of the Certificate of Merit of the Governor of the Sverdlovsk region and the awarding of the title of Master of Sports of Russia to Leya Garifullina, who in 2019 became the world chess champion among girls under 16. Andrey Shariyazdanov, Leya Garifullina's coach, the head of the grandmaster center, international grandmaster, and master of sports of Russia, was awarded a letter of thanks from the Governor of the Sverdlovsk region.    

USUE rector Yakov Silin emphasized that talented children especially need assistance and competent support on the difficult way of success and fame, and expressed gratitude to the President of the Chess Federation of the Sverdlovsk region Andrey Simanovsky for the years of fruitful cooperation.    

 There is a strong chess school in the Urals, and Ural State University of Economics is ready to support talented sportspersons and become the best platform for chess art.
