Our success is distinguished in Russia and abroad
Ural State University of Economics entered the Times Higher Education ranking of world universities in terms of compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals. Besides, the university took positions in two subjects at once in the AC Expert ranking.
British ranking agency Times Higher Education (THE) has published the results of THE Impact Rankings 2023 . The ranking assesses how the impact of world universities on society is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the UN in 2015 (no poverty and zero hunger, good health and well-being, quality education, decent work and economic growth, responsible consumption and production, etc.).
For comprehensive and balanced comparisons Times Higher Education uses indicators in three areas: research, outreach and teaching, and stewardship. .
Ural State University of Economics took part in this ranking for the second time and was ranked by 14 out of 17 SDGs.
As per reduced inequities goal, USUE took 9th place out of 40 among Russian universities. This is the first time our university has taken such a high position.
Following the goal of quality education, USUE has risen by 16 positions compared to last year and took 15th place among 80 Russian universities. This goal is to promote inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all members of society.
Ural State University of Economics took 28th place in Russia out of 61 as per the goal of decent work and economic growth. This goal includes setting the stage for people to have quality jobs that stimulate an environmentally friendly economy by increasing productivity, reducing unemployment, and increasing access to financial services and benefits.
According to the goals zero hunger, quality education, decent work and economic growth, reduced inequities, life under water, life on land, USUE entered the top 500 universities in the world . For other four goals, the university took positions 1001+.
The analytical center Expert also summed up the study of the publication activity of Russian universities. Firstly, the number of scientific articles published in a given period, their citation, etc. was taken into account. Secondly, the readiness of universities to generate inventions and patents was assessed. And thirdly, they analyzed the ability of universities to educate technology entrepreneurs, whose business is based on the latest scientific knowledge and technologies..
This year, over 150 Russian universities took part in the ranking. USUE entered the ranking in two areas:
1) Economics (economics, econometrics and finance) - position 17-20 (only 32 Russian universities were included in this ranking) and
2) Management (business, management and accounting) - position 23-24 (41 universities of the country were assessed).
Expert especially notes the demand for scientific activity and the quality of the university growth.
Analytical center Expert is a member of the Association of Independent Centers for Economic Analysis (AICEA) and officially cooperates with leading Russian research institutes. The Center conducts over 450 applied researches in the field of economics, generates industry reviews and ratings of companies. The studies of the publication activity of Russian universities have been conducted since 2015.
