Scientific journal Journal of New Economy included in RSCI

Based on the positive recommendations of the experts of the Thematic Councils and the Working Group, an updated list of journals included in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) was published on June 30, 2025. The scientific publication "Journal of New Economy" was included in their number.

The decision to include the journal in the RSCI was made on the basis of a multi-stage assessment, including:

• checking compliance with the basic formal requirements of the RSCI;
• comprehensive bibliometric analysis;
• public review procedure.

After reviewing the application by the relevant Thematic Council and taking into account the recommendations of disciplinary experts, the Working Group made the final decision to include the Journal of New Economy in the index.

Up-to-date data were used to assess the publication, including the SCIENCE INDEX Rating indicator for 2023. The journal has demonstrated stable growth in this indicator for more than 10 years.

The journal indicator in the Science Index system is integral and includes in its calculation methodology citations from journals of the RSCI core (i.e. journals indexed in Web of Science, Scopus or RSCI).

In the ranking by the two-year impact factor of the RSCI in the category "Economics. Economic Sciences", "Journal of New Economy" (formerly "Izvestiya of the Ural State University of Economics", until 2019) ranks 2nd among 625 journals.

The first place in the same category belongs to another USUE journal, “Manager”, which was included in the RSCI a year ago, and has also been indexed in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (Web of Science Core Collection) since 2018.

Since 2024, the scientific journal “Digital Models and Solutions” has been included in the HAC list in the scientific specialty 5.2.2 “Mathematical, Statistical and Instrumental Methods in Economics”. Together with another USUE journal, “Food Industry”, they confidently rank among the top five in their topics and are included in the plan for promotion to other large databases.

The Ural State University of Economics invites Russian and foreign scientists to publish their research in the Journal of New Economy, and all interested readers to read the materials on the official website of the Journal of New Economy.
