Today, over 550 graduates of the Preparatory Faculty for Foreign Citizens at Ural State University of Economics received certificates of proficiency in the Russian language.

This year, 558 students from 54 countries, including Angola, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Cameroon, Algeria, Sri Lanka, India, China, and other countries, studied at USUE’s Preparatory Faculty for 10 months. They studied Russian, learned about Russian traditions, culture, and lifestyle, and took part in municipal and university events. Dozens of Preparatory Faculty graduates who achieved the highest exam scores received their certificates in a solemn ceremony. Among them was 20-year-old Adem Benmessai from Algeria. The young man speaks several languages: Arabic, French, English, German, and now Russian.
“I really enjoy studying here! Knowing several languages helped me master Russian faster. At first, when I arrived, I didn’t even know the letters, but we had excellent teachers, so I quickly saw my progress. I’m also glad to find friends here from different countries,” Adem said. “I chose Russian education because it’s rated high in the world. I plan to enter a Ural university to study dentistry.”

Oksana Bazhenova, head of the USUE International Cooperation Office, congratulated the graduates of the USUE Preparatory Faculty: “Your mentors played a key role in helping you master a new language: Along with knowledge, they shared their life experiences, taught you how to adapt to Russian life and move toward your goals. I congratulate you on becoming proficient not only in the Russian language but also in Russian history and culture. I wish you continued success and good luck!”

Students who took an active part in the university's life throughout the academic year were also distinguished in a solemn atmosphere. Their achievements included participation in the Eurasian Economic Youth Forum, the “Victory Waltz” patriotic event, and the 3rd International Oratory Competition and Festival “Russian Word” hosted by the Higher School of Translation and Interpreting at Lomonosov Moscow State University.
A certificate of completion of an additional training program for international students allows admission to any university in Russia.
The Preparatory Faculty for Foreign Citizens has been operating at USUE for 12 years. During this time, its trainees were thousands of young men and women from all over the world.
