New programs, new approach to learning

Students who will enter the bachelor's, specialist and master's programs at USUE in 2024 will be offered new educational programs. In addition, along with associate professors and professors, lectures will be given by leading employees of the largest enterprises of the Middle Urals, which means that students will receive not only academic knowledge, but will also study advanced technologies adopted by banks, factories and factories, and government agencies.

This became possible thanks to network interaction with employers, that is, training programs were developed together with employees of enterprises. This has been practiced before at the Ural State University of Economics. For example, for 2 years now USUE students have been taught by employees of VTB Bank. One of the classrooms now looks like a VTB office, and students are required to follow a dress code. Thus, while still studying at the university, students will learn the work of a bank from the inside, and when they come to work at a financial institution, they will not need adaptation - a ready-made specialist with experience!

“The university’s networking partners are interested in projects like this and hiring our graduates. At the same time, it is absolutely not necessary for a student to study only for 5! Other competencies that are required to work in a particular place are also important. For example, sociability, friendliness, desire to work with people,” emphasized Vera Kolchina, head of the reception organization department of the USUE Department for Admission and Pre-University Training.

This year, each of the USUE Institutes will have programs developed by university teachers, scientists and leading employees of enterprises. 17 agreements have been concluded, among the partners of the Ural State University of Economics are such organizations as Rosselkhozbank, Ingosstrakh, the Department of Economics of the Yekaterinburg Administration, the Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia for the Sverdlovsk Region, the Sverdlovsk Regional Guild of Lawyers, the auditing company Capital, the Sverdlovsk Transformer Plant current

“Surely everyone has heard that a university graduate, when he gets a job, is told “forget everything you were taught.”   In order to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical skills, starting this year we will open admission to dozens of educational programs developed with the participation of employers. Enterprises participating in network interaction guarantee internships in their organizations and guarantee employment. Our students have advanced knowledge by the time they graduate. And this is not an unfounded statement. We monitor the fate of our bachelors and masters. According to statistics, 95% of USUE graduates get a job in their specialty in the first six months after receiving their diploma,” says Irina Martyanova, head of the USUE Department of Admission and Pre-University Training.

Thanks to networking with employers, new training profiles appear at the university. For example, in the fall of 2024, USUE undergraduate courses will begin training in event service. The relevance of the program is evidenced by the demands of society and business. For example, the growth of the event industry is associated not only with the desire of people to vividly hold events of various sizes, but also with the use of professional event marketing to promote goods, services and brands.

“Some people mistakenly believe that event service means volunteering at various levels, participating in events as promoters and extras. But in fact, this is a complex managerial position associated with the implementation of marketing communications, economic planning and management of permanent and temporary teams. Our graduates have already proven themselves not only as employees of the event industry, but also as heads of PR departments and event organizations. We cooperate with many enterprises, including the Visit Ural-Sibir holding, USTA Hostels, Atrium Palace Hotel, Youth Palace, and Aramilskaya Sloboda. And now we will rise one step higher,” says Evgenia Radygina, head of the Department of Tourism Business and Hospitality at USUE.

Applicants will be expected at the Ural State University of Economics starting from June 20. Detailed information about the features of the admissions company, the number of budget places and areas of training can be found on the USUE website in the “Applicants” section.
