Ural State University of Economics and the Sverdlovsk region Election Commission have signed an agreement on implementing joint projects. The agreement was signed by the USUE rector, Chairperson of the Public Chamber of Yekaterinburg, Yakov Silin, and the Chairperson of the Election Commission of the Sverdlovsk region, Elena Klimenko.

“Our university always performs well in voting. We train future managers, so it is important for us to convey the meaning and importance of elections so that they can make the right decisions independently. Cooperation with the election commission helps educate students and give them the opportunity to participate in the election process. I hope together we will be of benefit to the younger generation,” USUE rector Yakov Silin said.

The purpose of the agreement is joint work to improve the level of electoral and political literacy of students, to involve students in events on the legal culture of voters, and to establish a partnership between the parties to educate voters and improve awareness of voting right and election process.
“The results of voting during elections in recent years show positive dynamics in youth participation. This indicates that we are successfully working with this group, which is increasingly manifesting a desire to participate in voting. I hope the number of young voters will increase even more in the 2026 State Duma elections. Today’s agreement is a small step in this large and complex work,” said Elena Klimenko, Chairperson of the Sverdlovsk region Election Commission.

This is not the first agreement signed between the university and the Sverdlovsk region Election Commission. In 2024, they signed an agreement on cooperation in the preparation and holding of the RF Presidential elections.
