Education for export
Today, USUE Vice-Rector for Social Work and Youth Policy, Roman Krasnov, during a working trip to Moscow, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Burundi, Mr.Joseph Nkurunziza and counselor of the embassy, Mr.Adolphe Bukuru.
The principal topic of the conversation was the export of Russian education to the African continent.
Burundi is a country in East Africa. Its population is about 12.5 million people. Burundi has about 5% of the world’s supplies of nickel and, in addition, this country has significant deposits of rare-earth metals.
According to Mr. Joseph Nkurunziza, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Burundi to Russia, he respects Ural State University of Economics as a partner. This April, Mr. Adolfe Bukuru, counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Burundi in Russia, visited the XIII Eurasian Economic Youth Forum and was impressed by the scale of the event.
During the meeting, USUE Vice-Rector for Social Work and Youth Policy, Roman Krasnov, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Burundi to Russia, Joseph Nkurunziza, agreed to continue cooperation.
Currently, over 16 thousand students from 68 countries of the world study at USUE, including from Egypt, Nigeria, Cameroon, Senegal, Angola, and other African countries. In the 2023-2024 academic year, USUE will welcome students from Burundi for the first time.
