A delegation from Tajikistan visited the Ural State University of Economics. Yakov Silin, Acting Rector of the University, and Davlatshokha Gulmakhmadzoda, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Russian Federation, discussed the prospects for cooperation in the field of education.
The meeting was attended by Roman Krasnov, Vice-Rector for Social Work and Youth Policy at the Ural State University of Economics and Management, Kholnazar Goyib, Consul General of the Republic of Tajikistan in Yekaterinburg, Fathullobek Aslamov, Second Secretary of the Embassy, Behruz Jamshidzoda, Second Secretary of the Embassy, and Dilrabo Azimi, Head of the Representation of the Ministry of Labor, Migration, and Employment of the Republic of Tajikistan in the Russian Federation.

"In recent years, we have been developing regional cooperation. We discuss a number of issues, including those related to our students. It is important to understand their perspective on the future: what they lack in the current educational process and what competencies and areas they would like to develop. This is especially relevant in light of the changing economic situation, as the introduction of new technologies creates a demand for specialists with a new set of skills. Our goal is to train such professionals so that they can become in-demand specialists tomorrow," said Davlatshoh Gulmakhmadzoda, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Russian Federation.

The parties discussed the opportunities and prospects for Tajik youth to receive Russian education, as well as the relations between the two countries. Yakov Silin emphasized that 69 students from Tajikistan are currently studying at USUE.
"We are ready to accept more students who want to study. We are interested in ensuring that young people from Russia and Tajikistan understand each other well, want to build a friendly future, and develop the economies of their countries. The focus of today's meeting is on achieving results," said the university's head.

The Ambassador then met with students from Tajikistan. During the meeting, he listened to the students' opinions and suggestions, and discussed support issues with the university administration, including ways to help attract students and update educational programs to meet the needs of the modern economy.
At the end of the meeting, Yakov Silin invited Davlatshokh Gulmakhmadzoda to the XVI Eurasian Youth Economic Forum, which will be held in April.

International cooperation is an integral and important part of UrGEU's strategic development. The university actively collaborates with seven universities in Tajikistan, including the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Tajik State University of Commerce, the Tajik National University, and others.
