A solemn event dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Leningrad siege lifting began with the Evening Song.
The meeting at Ural State Economic University gathered residents of besieged Leningrad, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, representatives of public associations of the Sverdlovsk regions, residents of Yekaterinburg, schoolchildren, and students. “In the most difficult years for the country, the inhabitants of besieged Leningrad held a difficult burden. Thanks to them, the city survived. Please use the unique opportunity to talk with people who were the participants of those events. This is our history. It is necessary to remember it," USUE rector Yakov addressed the younger generation.
