Cooperation between Ural State University of Economics and the State University of Sri Jayewardenepura in Sri Lanka began several years ago. In 2023, within the framework of the 13th Eurasian Economic Youth Forum, a cooperation agreement was signed. And just in a year of joint fruitful work, USUE Vice-Rector for Social Work and Youth Policy of USUE Roman Krasnov officially opened the USUE Russian Language Center in Sri Lanka. After completing the training, Sri Lankans can enter Russian universities and receive education in any field.

The first group of the Russian Language Centre consisted of 15 Sri Lankans. August 17, all students successfully passed the exam and are ready to receive Russian language certificates. The exam was conducted online under the joint supervision of USUE and the State University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
The project to establish a Russian Language Center for Ural State University of Economics plays an important role in terms of developing cooperation with foreign countries. And the graduation of the first group confirms the success of the implemented project. Today, 20 students from Sri Lanka are studying at USUE, and we are looking forward to new students wishing to enter the largest economic university in the Urals.
