Ecology has won!

From yesterday morning until the very evening, the participants of the Urban Festival took measurements, sawed out, and planed in the courtyard of the University to present ready-made objets d’art today. In just a day, in the yard of the University, there appeared decorative trees about two meters high, a staircase symbolizing the stages of education, reconfigurable puzzle-benches, and a collapsible cube that can be turned into a place to relax: namely, two seats and a table.

All these objects were presented today by the students to the USUE rector Yakov Silin. After that, they summed up the Urban-fest, awarded the participants, and the closing ceremony of the festival took place.

Yakov Silin praised the participants' work and noted that it was young people who would have to develop and upgrade public space. Therefore, it is important to hear the ideas of starting specialists, especially when it comes to transforming small towns.

Perhaps, at first glance, the projects and objets d’art proposed by the students would seem too simple ... But this is not so! The students are just starting out and then will continue to improve their professional skills. The elderly generation should be more attentive to the ideas of young people. Who else but they would design cities and develop public space? Our University always supported and will support such projects,” Yakov Silin expressed confidence.

In the future, the Urban Festival may become regular. The national organization City Renovations has already appreciated this idea. In the near future, USUE will address a similar proposal to the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh).
