Practice-oriented training in customs regulation in full play
Within past few years, Ural State University of Economics and the Ural Customs Administration have been implementing joint events (roundtables, research seminars, study tours), which make it possible to realize successful interaction between universities and executive authorities in training high-skilled personnel for enterprises, organizations and executive bodies of Sverdlovsk region in the sphere of foreign economic activity, customs regulation and procedures.
Late February 2018, USUE fourth-year students under the supervision of the chair of the Department of International Business Viktor Kovalyov and the associate professor of the Department of International Business Oksana Falchenko participated in field trips to the Koltsovo customs.
The classes were conducted by the officials of two customs posts: Colonel of the Customs Service Vladimir Nikitin, deputy head of the customs post Koltsovo Airport (Cargo), Colonel of the Customs Service Alexander Simonov, head of the customs post Koltsovo Airport (Postal), and Lieutenant Colonel of the Customs Service Alexey Yagutkin, deputy head of the customs post Koltsovo Airport (Postal).
The students visited the customs controlled area at the customs post of Koltsovo (Cargo) airport and could see in practice how customs operations are carried out including the arrival of foreign goods to the EAEU customs territory, customs clearance of cargo arriving by air to Yekaterinburg, placing of goods under customs procedures and their subsequent release. The students were explained the features of a number of customs procedures (release for domestic consumption, customs transit, processing in the customs territory, and re-export). Future specialists were able to get practical information from practitioners in the field of foreign economic activity, customs regulation and procedures.
The USUE Department of International Business expresses its gratitude to the Koltsovo Customs for organizing and conducting field classes for students. This cooperation is a vivid example of successful interaction between universities and executive authorities while training of high-skilled personnel.
