Today the grand opening of the A.E. Karpov School of Chess Art at took place at State University of Economics (Uzbekistan). The ceremony was attended by a USUE delegation headed by USUE rector Yakov Silin.
On the eve of the opening of the School of Chess Art, there was a meeting held between USUE Rector Yakov Silin and TSUE Rector Kongratbay Sharipov with the many-time world chess champion, the famous grandmaster Anatoly Karpov.
Anatoly Yevgenievich is an honorary USUE professor, head of the USUE Department of Chess and Computer Mathematics.
TSUE staff and students attended the grand opening of the School of Chess. The grandmaster presented an autographed chess set to the new school and played a simul against its future students.
The A.E. Karpov School of Chess Art at TSUE was established within the framework of an agreement on the interaction of universities.
