USUE Vice-Rector Roman Krasnov discussed prospects for cooperation with Rossotrudnichestvo office in Sri Lanka.

The USUE delegation’s working visit to Sri Lanka goes ahead. The day after the graduation ceremony for the first group of the USUE Russian Language Center, Vice Rector for Social Work and Youth Policy Roman Krasnov held a business meeting with Maria Popova, head of the Rossotrudnichestvo office in Sri Lanka.

At the beginning, Roman Krasnov expressed deep gratitude on behalf of USUE leadership to Maria Popova for her comprehensive assistance in opening the Russian Language Center in Colombo in 2024 and her ongoing support of the university’s existing projects.

Strengthening cooperation in education was a key topic of discussion. The parties discussed in detail the prospects for increasing quotas for Sri Lanka citizens studying at USUE as part of a campaign held by the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

Rossotrudnichestvo highly appreciates USUE’s commitment to vigorous promoting the Russian language and Russian education in Sri Lanka. The successful work of the Center, which is already training 57 students, is the best proof of this. For its part, Rossotrudnichestvo is ready to continue supporting such significant initiatives.
