«Make your business a success»: USUE participated in a business game
October 28, 2017, Sverdlovsk Regional Foundation for Entrepreneurship Support and Sberbank held a business game «Make Your Business a Success.» the game was organized by the staff and students of the USUE Department of Public and Municipal Administration.
Business coaches from the department were Elena Kulikova and Mayya Lvova, and they were helped by fourth-year students Yevgeny Ivanov, Tatyana Yakovleva and Olga Kalashnikova.
Entrepreneurs of the Sverdlovsk region arranged seven teams of 12-15 people and in a short time created a profitable successful company. All the teams performed full functions of employees of the key departments of an average firm: finance department, production department, logistics department, and sales department.
The participants kept records of money in the company, manufactured, advertised and sold the finished product. In addition, they acted as borrowers, dealt with issues related to property insurance, and competed in the market taking into account supply and demand, as well as production opportunities.
The captain of the team played the role of a leader and managed the business, took and implemented all necessary managerial decisions, conducted communications with banks, investors, and authorities, acted by business coaches and volunteers of the game.
During each round, the participants took decisions on managing the processes inside the company, and then discussed the results and future steps.
All the actions of the game participants were estimated by experts, among whom were Yevgeny Kopelyan, Director of Sverdlovsk Regional Foundation for Entrepreneurship Support, and Mikhail Kissel, Managing Director of the Sverdlovsk branch of Sberbank of Russia.
