Blurring out educational boundaries

As part of a working visit to Moscow, USUE Vice-Rector for Social Work and Youth Policy, Roman Krasnov met with the Minister of Trade and Education of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. The key topic of the negotiations was the opening of the Russian Language Center at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.

The Russian Language Center will operate under the memorandum of understanding on additional general education programs in Russian and English, which was signed on the sidelines of the XIV Eurasian Economic Youth Forum this April. The main goal of the international educational project is to help future students prepare for studying at Russian universities, as well as those who want to connect their lives with Russia.. A certificate of training at the Center will allow Sri Lankans to enter any Russian university and receive an education in any area.

In the near future, USUE will send teaching and learning materials, fiction, and merch with the symbols of the Ural university to the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. According to the organizers’ plans, classes will begin this fall.

The Russian Language Center in Sri Lanka will open this autumn
