Strategic partnership in full play

USUE Vice-Rector for Research Viktor Kovalev is on a visit to the Namangan Institute of Engineering and Technology (NIET) (Uzbekistan).

These days, the Namangan Institute of Engineering and Technology is hosting a research-to-practice conference “The Importance of Effective Organization of Business Activities in Ensuring the Accelerated Development And High Growth Rates of the National Economy of New Uzbekistan.” Scientists from Russia, Belarus, Zambia, India, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan took an active part in the conference.



At the plenary session of the conference, USUE Vice-Rector for research, professor at the USUE Department of World Economics and Foreign Economic Activity, Viktor Kovalev, made a report “The Role of Entrepreneurship in International Trade: Sources of Economic Growth for Russia and Uzbekistan.”

In his report, he focused on the factors ensuring the formation of the business environment, the qualitative parameters of the motivational environment for the development of entrepreneurship in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The study touched upon the development of entrepreneurship as a source of growth in the economy of New Uzbekistan, gross fixed capital formation and the dynamics of investment by small and medium-sized businesses in fixed capital by sources of financing, and the role of international trade participants in the formation of a sustainable trajectory of economic growth of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Besides, Viktor Kovalev met with the NIET Rector, Odiljon Mamatkarimov, NIET Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, Oybek Ergashev, and heads of the NIET departments. At the meetings, they discussed joint scientific projects between USUE and NIET.

During the visit, they reached a preliminary consent for NIET rector Odiljon Mamatkarimov to arrive at our university for negotiations with USUE Rector Yakov Silin on the development of cooperation between our universities.

A cooperation agreement between USUE and Namangan University of Engineering and Technology was signed in 2016. It provides for the academic mobility of students and teachers, the participation of university scientists in scientific conferences and seminars, joint scientific publications, and the exchange of pedagogical experience in training personnel in the fields of economics, management, and technological development.
