USUE student received the Grand Prix of the French Embassy in Russia for poetry translation from French into Russian
The award has reached its hero, or to be more accurate – its heroine! Maria Yufa, this academic year - a fourth-year student of the Institute of Trade, Food Technologies, and Services, has received two diplomas for the 12th ALL-RUSSIA CONTEST OF POETIC TRANSLATION "DIALOGUE OF CULTURES", which took place at the end of 2019: 1st place in the category "Students of non-linguistic specialties"/ "French as the second foreign language (translation from French into Russian)" and the Grand Prix of the French Embassy in Russia.
More than 400 students from various regions of Russia took part in the contest. Under such a competition, the members of the contest jury voted unanimously for awarding the Grand Prix to Maria.
This is how Maria herself comments on this event: “It was always interesting for me to study foreign languages ??and, in particular, French, thanks to my teacher Svetlana Anatolyevna Ivanova, who introduced me to it. When there is an opportunity to work not just with a text, but with poetry, then, I think, it is imperative to seize it. Therefore, participation in the poetry translation contest was a wonderful experience, and the victory gained, in particular, the Grand Prix of the French Embassy was a pleasant surprise for me and an excellent motivation to develop in learning the language."
Teachers of the USUE Department of Foreign Languages ?? and especially Associate Professor Svetlana Anatolyevna Ivanova, are proud of their graduate because it was there that Maria began with the alphabet and so successfully continued her study of the French language.
