USUE student was awarded for the best scientific report

February 9, students of Ural State University of Economics  took part in the VII International Conference of Young Scientists "Actual Problems of Philological Science of the 21st Century".

A student Maria Ufa won the competition for the best report in the section "Modern Linguistic Studies. Translation Issues”. The girl delivered a report on the topic "On Peculiarities of International Business Correspondence at the Present Stage", supervised by  Svetlana Ivanova, associate professor at  the USUE Department of Foreign Languages ??.

Maria analyzed the peculiarities of international business correspondence, which helps establish and strengthen political and economic ties between foreign partners. Through the example of business correspondence in German and Chinese, she demonstrated how important it is to follow certain rules when communicating with foreign colleagues, including in electronic environment. It is no secret that at present intercultural communications could arise instantly, and electronic correspondence is one of the most effective ways to maintain them.

International corporations, hotel networks, and other economic players should be able to monitor the activities of their offices located in different parts of the globe. In order to make this possible and most convenient, special rules for business correspondence are developed. Therefore, there is no doubt that a literate text of a business letter, drawn up according to universal standards, will find a response even from an addressee who could be several thousand kilometers away from the sender or can serve as the beginning of cooperation.

Besides, do not forget about the cultural differences between countries and nations. The use of certain local features of conducting business correspondence while communicating with foreigners could help enter into an important international contract or agreement, and to strengthen corporate relations.

In business communication, it is necessary to take into account which country the letter is sent to. After all, if German business communication allows for some freedom, it should be avoided in communication with Chinese partners.

The organizers of the conference duly appreciated the list of the scientific literature reviewed, the analysis of concrete examples from business letters, the original presentation of the material, and the brilliant knowledge of foreign languages, and awarded Maria and her supervisor Svetlana Ivanova the victory in the category "Best Scientific Report".
