SVE STUDENTS TURNED BUSINESSMEN AT USUE

In a creative atmosphere and a playing format, Ural State University of Economics hosted an Open Day for students of colleges and technical schools of the Sverdlovsk region, organized by the USUE Institute of Continuous and Distance Education together with the Regional Council of Parents of SVE (secondary professional education) students.

Fifteen teams of secondary educational institutions from Yekaterinburg, Kamensk-Uralsky, Verkhnyaya Salda, Verkhnyaya Pyshma, Irbit, Nizhny Tagil, and Pervouralsk took part in the Stay in the Know training on starting a business. The students went on excursions around the University, became acquainted with the teaching staff, learned about educational programs implemented at the University, about the opportunity to get a bachelor's degree in just two years and ten months, and much more.

The training consisted of three educational modules, which included lectures, games, discussions, and assignments dedicated to the entrepreneurial specifics. The students mastered the technologies for choosing the best strategies and tools when organizing a business. Elena Kulikova, a business consultant for the development of entrepreneurship, a regional expert in social business, associate professor of the USUE Department of Public and Municipal Administration, introduced the trainees to the basics of marketing analysis and taught them to identify the basic needs of clients.

The final task of the training was to develop and present business projects of a hypothetical product and its sale to experts who acted as a finicky consumer of the modern market of goods and services.
From a bottle of water to a trip to Bali - the list of offered products from future applicants turned out to be so diverse that the experts had to award the win to "friendship" splitting top places between the teams. All participants received prizes and gifts from USUE.
