USUE students reached the second stage of International Student Olympiad in economics and management
The first round of the International Student Olympiad "Economics and Management" began at St. Petersburg University of Economics. Participants answered questions, performed tests and solved mini-cases in the areas of sections and according to results reached the second stage.
Answering the question, a participant can additionally present the argumentation of his or her answer on a special form, which will significantly increase the level of his/her assessment. On October 10, the students of Ural State University of Economics competed in four sections:. "International Business", "Marketing", "Project Management", and "Economy of Russia" The first round of "Project Management" is an exercise in a simulated educational environment "StratInvest".
Participants of the section "Project Management" students Valeriya Kiseleva, Polina Bolonina, and Lada Kabanova successfully overcame the first stage and started to develop a project on "Creating an Educational Institution - the Academy of Municipal Economy." Its implementation involves the generalization of international and domestic experience in the development of training programs in this field, definition of the main directions of urban development in the Russian Federation, analysis of problem areas of development, and the use of new digital and distance learning technologies.
October 11, there ran the section "Supply Chain Logistics and Management" with 28 participants from nine Russian universities. Professor Dmitry Karkh, USUE Department of Commerce, Logistics and Trade Economics, is a member of the jury of this section.
USUE Students Sofya Podkina, Julia Karpova, Ekaterina Ryabenko, and Anastasia Vozmilova are preparing solutions of cases. Tomorrow they will present them.
We would like to remind that the event takes place in 13 sections from 9 to 14 October 2017 at St. Petersburg Economic University.
