SVERDLOVSK REGION – A FLAGSHIP OF HEALTHY FOODS FOR CHILDREN

The Ministry of Education and Youth Policy of the Sverdlovsk Region, together with Ural State University of Economics, held the first regional conference, "Formation of Healthy Eating Culture in Educational Organizations of the Sverdlovsk Region."  
 
The Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Yevgeny Kuyvashev, welcoming the participants of the meeting on catering in educational institutions, emphasized the seriousness and relevance of the topic chosen. The Governor noted that the Sverdlovsk Region was one of the first in Russia to introduce, back in 2006, free meals for primary school students. Therefore, 455 thousand students receive hot breakfasts or lunches. The Sverdlovsk Region allocates over 3 billion rubles for these purposes.

 

Following the sanitary and epidemiological situation, the conference was held with face-to-face and virtual participation and an online broadcast.
 
Some thematic exhibitions were offered to the attention of the conference participants. The School Menu exhibition of dishes and products from OOO "Comfort" of USTA-School operator. The USTA-School catering operator showed examples of afternoon shacks, which are being additionally implemented for children in schools. Snacks are attractive because one may take them away, which is suitable for children who stay for extracurricular activities or continuing activities outside the school.
