Ural is ready for productive cooperation

USUE rector is on a working visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan. Today, the capital hosted the XI Russian-Azerbaijani Interregional Forum. The agenda includes cooperation between the two countries in industry, energy, transport, culture, and education.

USUE rector Yakov Silin made a report to business leaders and authorities of Azerbaijan and Russia.

The report “Competitive Positions of the Special Economic Zone of the Sverdlovsk Region and Prospects for Cooperation in New Realities” delivered by Doctor of Economics, USUE rector Yakov Silin covered the key tasks of the Sverdlovsk region in entering new investment areas. According to the rector, when the world system is being transformed, the major trend is the transition to a multipolar world in a new configuration. With the restructuring of ties in all spheres, “the role of regions and interregional economic and socio-cultural development is again increasing.”

USUE rector Yakov Silin presented the Sverdlovsk region as a special economic zone (SEZ) in the Russian Federation. This means that tourism, the health-resort sector and transport infrastructure are rapidly growing in this territory. Using the example of this Ural region, the rector showed how attractive a SEZ could be for investors: “The Sverdlovsk region is among the leading regions in implementing the regional export standard: 14 out of 15 support instruments are used here. The Sverdlovsk region is a powerful industrial region with a colossal educational and scientific potential.”

In his report, the rector emphasized that “our region, our enterprises and our university are ready to build constructive relationships.”

The XI Russian-Azerbaijani interregional forum was organized by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
