DOSAAF DAY AT USUE GATHERED UNIVERSITIES OF THE SVERDLOVSK REGION
In 2021, for the first time, DOSAAF Day is held at the interuniversity level. The students demonstrated their abilities in intellectual games and tournaments on knowledge of Russian history, sports relay races, and in a military quest.
Addressing the students, USUE rector Yakov Silin noted: “Today only strong people have gathered here. You decided to take part in competitions to try your abilities and to display your ambitions. Future belongs to the strongs! Thank you for agreeing to present your universities. I thank the Chairman of the Sverdlovsk regional branch of DOSAAF of Russia, Major General Arkady Aleksandrovich Vorobkalo. Together, we have been holding the DOSAAF Day for the fifth year already and call on other universities of the Urals to join".
“Today you set an example for teenagers and young people to more actively visit gyms. You will become a role model for beginners - those who have yet to feel the taste of the first victory. After all, the foundation of all future records and victories is laid in childhood and adolescence. In this regard, it is difficult to overestimate the importance of introducing the younger generation to active physical culture and sports,” added Leonid Malev, the acting Chairman of DOSAAF of Russia.
Competitions included a history quiz, presentation of teams, practical tasks for hitting qualifying standards, technical and practical skills, and obstacle race. The final part of the quest was the Race of Heroes contest, which also contained 11 military-sports tasks.
The best with the highest number of points in all the stages was the team of Ural Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. The second place was taken by students of the Ural State Law University. The third were the students from the Ural Institute of the State Fire Service of the EMERCOM of Russia.
The DOSAAF Day game is being held at Ural State University of Economics for five years. The event was first held in 2017 for USUE students. The game aims to acquaint students with the troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, to introduce them to the Voluntary Society for Assistance to the Army, Aviation and Navy (DOSAAF), to increase interest in studying the history of Russia, to shape activism, and to promote a healthy lifestyle for young people. Over 5 years, interest in the game among other universities increased, and therefore it was decided to the event at the interuniversity level.
