USUE shares its experience with colleagues from Uzbekistan

On October 23-24, Tashkent State University of Economics (TSUE) will host the International Forum “Global and National Economic Trends: Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy”.

Renowned economists and experts from Russia, Uzbekistan, the United Arab Emirates, China, Indonesia, the United States, France, Azerbaijan, Japan, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, India, Kyrgyzstan, the United Kingdom, and Egypt attend the forum.

The event includes a scientific and practical conference, masterclasses, thematic exhibitions, and an international youth festival. Besides, they organized contests of startups and academic papers, as well as Olympiads in various scientific fields for students and young scientists.

Dmitry Karkh, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Teaching Methods and Quality of Training, headed the USUE delegation at the forum.

In the agenda, there are several reports submitted by the Ural delegation: Professor Dmitry Karkh presented a paper titled “Modern Approaches to Improving the Quality of Services Provided by Educational Institutions under Higher Education System Reform,” while Ekaterina Yalunina, Director of the Institute of Continuing and Distance Education, discussed the development of cooperation in education between Russia and Uzbekistan.

“This is our third time we have taken part in the forum on the USUE delegation,” Ekaterina Yalunina noted. “This event is an excellent way to engage young people from both countries in joint educational and research activities, and in joint scientific discoveries. We expect an increase in the number of students training under our joint international educational program.”

From October 18 to October 25, the same venue will host the third student workshop, “Law and Business in Modern Realities: National, Regional, and International Dimensions,” with USUE students participating. The workshop aims to introduce students to industrial enterprises in Uzbekistan, TSUE, and the university’s educational process. USUE students in their first to third years, who are academically successful and active in extracurricular activities, were selected to participate in the workshop: Vyacheslav Shutovsky, Anastasia Dankiv, Ksenia Smirnova, Yana Gabdulhakova, and Daria Petrova.

As part of the forum, Ekaterina Yalunina held the International Business Factory Competition. A total of 47 projects were submitted, including those from Russia, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, the UAE, South Africa, Pakistan, India, Mexico, and Venezuela. Among the nine best startups selected, there was a USUE student project “Cranberry Foam.” Our team took first place in the competition.

“The forum is an excellent opportunity for students majoring in economics and management to show their gained competencies,” said Daria Petrova, a USUE student and forum participant. “And we were interested in getting acquainted with the projects of other participants from leading universities around the world.”

Ural State University of Economics and Tashkent State University of Economics have enjoyed a long-standing partnership. In July 2025, a graduation ceremony was held in Tashkent for the second graduates of the joint USUE and TSUE master’s degree program, as well as for the fourth graduating class of the bachelor’s degree program. In 2023, Tashkent State University of Economics awarded Professor Dmitry Karkh and Professor Ekaterina Yalunina the title of honorary professors. USUE Rector Yakov Silin was awarded the title of TSUE honorary professor in 2022.
