USUE KEEPS STABLE POSITIONS

January 14, the first in 2021 press conference of USUE rector Yakov Silin took place.  The press conference was attended by journalists from TV companies of Asbest, Kamensk-Uralsky, and Polevsky, as well as journalists of the Economist magazine of Ural State University of Economics.

At the press conference, answers were given to the most pressing questions about the tasks of the University in the coming years and work under the coronavirus pandemic, about the attitude to distance learning, and the quality of training for future economists.

In September, at USUE, the elections of the rector took place. Yakov Petrovich Silin was re-elected and with the beginning of 2021, a new round of his activities in this status starts. In this respect, the questions concerned the goals and objectives of USUE for the next 5 years.
It is known that in connection with the coronavirus pandemic, in 2020, the Eurasian Economic Youth Forum, a visiting card of the University, did not take place. Yakov Petrovich believed that in April 2021 this large-scale economic event would take place "in any weather."

During the press conference, much attention was paid to distance education technologies, which came to the fore during the 2020 pandemic.
Journalists were interested in plans for the construction of a new academic building and one more dormitory. For USUE, this is indeed one of the top priorities. Yakov Silin explained that plans for the construction of a new building were close to the initial stage of implementation.

During the press conference, Yakov Silin touched upon other areas of the University's activities. For example, within the Strategic Academic Leadership Program recently announced by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, USUE cooperates and teams up with other major RF and CIS universities; puts in a lot of effort on the development of a network of USUE territorial access centers; concludes agreements with schools in Yekaterinburg and the Sverdlovsk region on vocational guidance for high school students. This means that despite the pandemic and socio-economic challenges of the time, USUE keeps stable positions in the educational field of the region and the country.
