Speaking at the plenary session of the Moscow Strategic Universitarium, Viktor Kovalev, USUE Vice-Rector for Research, shared his experience of hosting the first Ural Universitarium, which brought together authoritative experts in strategizing at USUE in October 2025. He emphasized the importance of the partnership between USUE and Lomonosov Moscow State University in scientific and educational collaboration on industrial strategizing. For many years, the Urals have been perceived as the heart of Russian industry, the main driver of economic growth for this vast country. Despite its harsh natural environment, it has also endowed the region with abundant natural resources, which have become the foundation for the emergence of large enterprises of ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, machinery plants, chemical and power industries. The region supplies metals, military equipment, and machinery that play a key role in the country's survival. Therefore, industrial strategizing is particularly in demand in the Urals, Yekaterinburg, and enterprises in the Sverdlovsk region. Strategic thinking and sound planning act as a compass, enabling successful navigation through the turbulent sea of global change and crises. They help rationally utilize region's available resources, improve the efficiency of production facilities, and ensure the sustainability of key sectors of the regional economy.

Following Viktor Kovalev's presentation, colleagues from Lomonosov Moscow State University unanimously supported the continuation of further scientific and educational cooperation between the two universities in industrial strategizing, approving USUE's status as the venue for the next Ural Strategic Universitarium.
