USUE is a popularizer of entrepreneurship

An exhibition "The Legacy of Outstanding Entrepreneurs of Russia" arranged by Opora Russia, the all-Russian public organization of small and medium-sized enterprises, has opened at USUE.

It will work at the University for about a month and will acquaint visitors with the activities of prominent business and trade representatives of the Sverdlovsk region and will tell about their contribution to the development of the Urals and Russia.

The exhibition features ten booths, each containing a portrait of a pre-revolutionary entrepreneur and information about his/her achievements. So, for a couple of months the Agafurov brothers, Sofya Stroganova, Maxim Pokhodyashin, Alexey Vyatkin, the Poklevsky-Kozell family, Nikolai Zamyatin, Dmitry Zyazin, the Shadrin dynasty, Akinfiy Demidov, and Faddey Malkov “settled” at USUE. All of them became famous for the development of entrepreneurship in Ural cities, including Yekaterinburg, Pervouralsk, Polevskoy, and others.

You can learn more about each of these entrepreneurs from the podcast. To do this, you need to scan the QR code (it is on every booth) and follow the link that opens.

As the USUE rector Yakov Silin noted, the exhibition would become one of the steps in the development of entrepreneurship in the Urals. "I am grateful to my colleagues from Opora Russia who asked us for assistance in the organization of the exhibition. The entrepreneurs, about whom the exhibition tells, worked on our land. Now, we use what was once created by them. This is the legacy we need to multiply and develop. Today there are worthy entrepreneurs who can rank with the Agafurovs, Demidovs, and Poklevsky-Kozells. I hope that someday our graduates will be among the great entrepreneurs of the Urals and Russia," Yakov Silin said.

Ilya Tyschenko, the chairperson of the Sverdlovsk regional branch of Opora Russia, also addressed the audience. He thanked USUE for assistance in holding the exhibition and assured that in the future it would find its permanent location.
